Daniela Meinl – Integral Fascial Yoga

Hi, I am Dani

Author. Founder.
Fascia Expert.

I'm the founder of Integral Fascial Yoga and author of The Comprehensive Guide on Fascial Yoga. Over the past 15+ years, I've guided yoga teachers and movement educators into a deeper understanding of fascia — grounded in science, shaped through experience, and always rooted in embodied truth.

I was part of the original team around Dr. Robert Schleip, who pioneered international fascia research. I've spent the last decade integrating this knowledge into yoga: not as fitness, but as a living, sensing practice.

The Science

Why Fascia May Be
The Missing Link in Your Yoga Teaching

Fascia is the body's connective tissue network. It weaves through and around muscles, bones, organs, vessels and nerves — holding everything together, while allowing it to glide, move and adapt.

🔬

Anatomically

Fascia is made of collagen, elastin, water and millions of sensory nerve endings — a living, sensing matrix throughout the entire body.

Functionally

It transmits movement and force, stores elastic energy, supports proprioception and interoception, and plays a role in pain modulation and emotional processing.

🌿

In Yoga

When fascia is not sufficiently stimulated through varied, intelligent movement, it becomes dense, dry and stuck — limiting both movement and perception.

Principles of
Integral Fascial Yoga

01

Movement Variety

Fascia loves variety. Multi-directional, unpredictable movement keeps fascial tissue hydrated and responsive.

02

Tensegrity

Stability and lightness in perfect balance — the body as a tensional integrity structure, neither collapsing nor gripping.

03

Rebound Elasticity

Harness the elastic energy stored in fascial tissue through dynamic, spring-like movement patterns.

04

Fascial Stretch

Long, sustained stretches that reach the deeper fascial layers — beyond muscle, into the tissue of unity.

05

Myofascial Self-Massage

Targeted manual stimulation with rollers, balls and suction cups to restore glide, hydration and tissue health.

06

Sensory Refinement

The art of listening inward. Interoception as the foundation of all fascial practice — find the guru within yourself.
